Astigmatism is a very common refractive error and usually occurs in conjunction with short sightedness or farsightedness. When the lens or the cornea of your eye has an irregular curve/shape, it changes the way light passes through the eye. This makes your vision blurry. Astigmatism is not an eye disease; it is the physical result of how light reacts with your eye.

Symptoms of astigmatism include blurry vision, eye strain, headaches, squinting and difficulty with night vision.
